Sickness and Doctor's Masks

Weellll we're all sick here. Mom has a serious sinus infection, Luke has mono, and I have pneumonia. It's a joy--really. -__- Especially since Mom might be coming down with mono too. I'm next!!! o.o

See, Mom got kind of concerned on Tuesday when she finally listened to me and found out I had such a bad sore throat that I could barely swallow. She took me to the doctor and found out I had the beginnings of pneumonia, so I got some medicine, blah blah blah. Besides the first day, I feel SO much better now, and think I'm almost 100% better.

Buuut..... Mom and Luke are still sick. Mom's been going kind of up and down--the first day she thought she would be too sick on Sunday to make the Sloppy Joes (we're having our first fellowship meal with the new mission work this Sunday), so she sent them to someone else to make. Then she felt better so she started making the salad.

Well this morning I was like super hyper and cleaning my room (don't ask how those two things mix...) and I was bringing some stuff downstairs when I look up and my mom's literally standing in the hallway with a doctor's mask on and I SWEAR TO GOD she looked like this:

Anyway, sorry for not posting that much.... I was waiting for something interesting to come up with, like when we actually started decorating the house. After seeing how everyone's feeling...I don't think we'll be able to decorate this year. :(

November!!!! Holy--wow.

Wowza, haven't posted in almost two months. :o Sorrys... my schedule's been hectic.

Weellll... what's been going on with school? I've been writing a bunch of essays, and just started a biography on Guy de Maupassant. He's just another creepy writer that has no respect for women, and whose eyesight failed during his career, causing him to go mad and attempt suicide by cutting his throat, eventually causing him to go to a private asylum where he died (not so peacefully) in July 1893. Yeah. But he's french, so I put up with it. :D (Yes, I do have only a slight obsession wi--OMG THE BLUE ON MY BROWSER IS IN THE FRENCH FLAG!!!!!) He's also a brilliant writer, soo.. two pluses. ;)

I also might get a babysitting job on Friday!! But I haven't gotten an okay yet. The parents want to go to the conference at Sovereign Grace, but they haven't decided if they can or not. So anywaysss, if I do get the jobb Julia's gonna come help out. Gonna be funn. (:

Social life? Not getting much of that, but in October I went to the fair with my bestiee (: Only pics I got were of us holding the baby chicks, though. But we rode the fireball and it was EPICSAUCE!!! <33 Ignoring the fact that I've had back problems ever since buut... it was worth it. :P


Ignoring school and the clumps of hair that fall out when I brush ;), I'm SUPER stoked this week!! Only two more weeks of school till break!!! :D :D :D SO flippin psyched !! Check out the countdown widget. ;)

OH OH OH!! ANDD during break we're going to... guess? NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!! <3 For those of you that don't know, every year we go up for Thanksgiving and stay with my cuz. :)) Had a great time last year and can't waitttt to go this year!

Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce that Nails, belonging to Lily, passed away this afternoon.

Nails served honorably as close friends to Fingers, as well as its long-distance relations; Toes. Its parents, Hands, are devastated at their loss, and are in the process of being consoled.

Nails lived a short life; only one month, and we are disheartened at hearing that the possibility of Nails continuing its journey through life has ended so abruptly.

There are rumors that Violin was to blame, for in the past it forced Hands unwillingly to control the growth of their children. Nails was their first successful child to grow up healthy and happy for an extended time, after Violin mysteriously disappeared during the summer.

Before Nails’ tragic death, it was heard that Violin had come back, and was angered at hearing Hands had disobeyed his orders, so ordered them to take care of it.

This is but mere speculation; nothing is certain as the police are still investigating. Meanwhile, let us have a moment of silence in remembrance of Nails and its mourning parents…

I'm back... and tann!!

Yes, I am FINALLY making a post. :P

Well the beach was awesome!!! A little after we arrived, the Currins, Virginia, and us wanted to see if we could take some pictures of the horses, so we drove over to the beach they're known to be seen at. Buut.. we met this guy on the way there who said he was just down there and hadn’t seen anything. Apparently they don't show until 6am. -.-
But we did get to hang out at the beach and take pretty piccies. :)


The whole first half of the week (Monday-Wednesday) we went searching for the horses on the beach at 6am. And of course we didn't see any. :( The beach was so full I was really doubting we were going to see any anyway, because they would probably be scared by all the cars. :\

Luke was wearing his Corona jacket type thinget, and it kept billowing out behind him when we were riding in the back of the truck, so we poked it. :D hehe And Casey's American Red Cross shoes made interesting prints in the sand... ;P



There was also this humvee on the beach with a gun on it. Seriously. o_o
And that guy is way too tan. -.-


Tuesday Luke, Virginia and I went up on the Currituck lighthouse, with about 241 steps. ‘:| It was our second time, though, so it wasn’t as “amazing” as last time. ;) But it was still pretty cool.
We were fine with the height until Luke brought up how it would feel if we fell. -.-


When we got down, there was this pit thing at the center of the floor with like a million dollars in it!! 8O Okay, not really, but it was a freakin lotta money. :o


Before the Currins & VA left Wednesday afternoon, we went to this awesome aquarium. It was reallyy cool. It had a giant aquarium full of sharks and ginormous tuna that, from their tail to their head, they'd come up to over my knees. :o My camera has such a slow shutter speed I took a movie instead. :P



They also had this really cool touching tank with sting rays in it. 8D But I was too scared to touch it. * ahem * I couldn't tell how deep the water was. ....>.> Moving on..



So after the aquarium we went back to the beach house to find the Wills ransacking the place. ;) Wednesday and Thursday were both stormy all day, so we couldn't go to the beach. :( But Friday was finally clear, and the ocean was awesome and rough cuz of the rain. I'm very proud of myself too, cuz there were jellyfish all over the place but I still went in. ;P A few dozen waves even crashed on me with about 5 jellyfish in them, right on top of me. Aheh...

For the last night there, we got to go out to eat! We went to The Black Pelican, which was originally the first telegraph office on the Outer Banks.
I got steak. (haha, so original, ahem) I was going to get a plate with swordfish and shark, but I wasn't sure if I would like it, and I would have to finish it all so..yeah. :( But my mom got the swordfish special and I got to taste it. Sooooo good!!! :) It tastes like tuna. ;P

They had these super cool surfboards on the ceiling, and a huge stuffed swordfish hanging on the window. (Jeanna decided to lose this awesome pic I took of it, so I only have Julia's face pic of it. aHEM. ;P) My camera broke, btw. It got sand all in the lens and it keeps having this "lens error". >.< Ah well..

Home Sweet Home

I’m backk!! Some people think a 10 day break from the internet is good. Me? I don’t think so. :( With nothing to do but sit around and watch the fishing channel (Luke's choice x.x) all day... yeah.

Well, we did get to go to my cousin's house on Wednesday. Luke went with my cousin Bert (really my mom's, but we call him our cousin too...although I think of him more as an uncle :P) and his son (our "real" cousin ;) Gabriel to the range and shot skeet or something andd I stayed at their house and talked about colleges with my other "real" cousin Andrea. haha I have confusing family relations on my mom's side... :P

My grandparents have this wall full of pics of muah. >:D I'm just that special. I also found this really weeird pic on it. >.> I was one strangee child. You should see all the other pics they had in their photo albums... Scary stuffs. :s

Oh yah, I got a mani-pedi Friday!! :D Wuz funnn. hehe Everyone was horrified I picked bright blue to paint my nails cuz Cubans are into the natural colors. :P

And I made up my mind I’m gonna get a Scottie someday. :D While I was waiting, I played with the lady’s adorableee Scottie puppy, Onyx. <3 She has a basket of toys and when you throw her one, she catches it, waits for you to applaud, and then runs into the bathroom to put the toy on the rug. When the basket is empty you go to the bathroom and find all the toys on the rug. xD funneh. And she won’t go away until you’re really clapping enthusiastically. hehe It gets sorta tiring though. :P

Hmm... well going back to NC, I'm finally taking a babysitting class next Tuesday! Yey. Then I'm going to start asking around for jobs in our church. :) I wish I could take the CPR class around the same time too, but... actually I don't really know why I can't. o.O

Fireworks!!

Wow, three days in a row I've managed to post...I'm getting good at this. :P

We went to watch the fireworks at Lake Holt today--super fun!! :) I got an awesome movie of the grand finale too.

I also made up my mind that next snow fall I'm going to sled down this awesomely steep hill at Lake Holt. They have like, 5 reallyyy steep hills. :D I was gonna do it last year, but I thought it was illegal or something, and didn't know it was a park. haha

Oh yah, and due to request, the contest deadline has been moved to July 7th. :)

Airports and Things

Helloeth!! The first day of the season that I didn't hear my skin sizzle and have my hair frizz up to a mile when I walked out the door. 70'F during the day and now 50'F at night. Awesome. <3

Also the last day of a busy month, only to start yet another one identical to it. But I still have lots to look forward to: in July we'll be in Florida to finally see my Grandparents again! :) I'm really looking forward to it... except for the airport business. >:\ The government is a little too paranoid. Although I don't blame them...but it's still really annoying going through all the metal detectors etc. Blegh.

Last time we went to NY, Luke nearly got arrested for wearing a hoodie! They made him go in this really scary looking, super tech metal detector that conceals you inside until they're done examining you. o_o Scary stuffs. They weird thing is--I was wearing a hoodie too. >.>

Anyways, I'm also super excited about August 5th. My cousin's coming to visitt!!! <3 yeyz. But they're only staying for like one day...but it's still awesome to see her! :D

DUSS Camp

Camp started yesterday! Buut... it's not as fun as the ones I've gone to in the past. :\ The majority of the campers are below 10, and most haven't had that much experience (there's even a cellist who only started 6 weeks ago) so some of the music is really easy--especially the theory. But other than that it's pretty fun! The music for my group is pretty hard for me (at least, the Paganini is. blegh :P) with all the really high shifting, and it helps me get familiar with that type of stuff since I don't usually have it.

I have to get up at 6am tomorrow so I should probs go to bed. :( For now, here's a list of some of the pieces my group is playing:

Cavani Opus 18 #2 mvt 3, Paganini Moto Perpetuo (imagine a skull and cross bones here... x.x)

I don't have the names of the rest of the songs so um...yeah.
